Beijing, China, September 1, 2020 – Dialog semiconductor AG (DEX: DLG), a leading supplier of battery management, AC/DC power conversion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), industrial ICs Announced today, the latest high-efficiency high-current automotive-grade step-down DC-DC (buck) converter DA913X-A product family.
The highly integrated DA913X-A family of devices requires fewer external components than competing solutions, enabling lower BOM cost and smaller solution size. Operating at over 90 percent efficiency, this family of devices reduces the thermal challenges of high-current power supply in many automotive system designs, including in-vehicle infotainment, navigation, telemetry, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and more.
The DA913X-A family consists of three devices configured as single or dual output buck converters. The DA9130-A is a single-channel, dual-phase buck converter that provides up to 10 A of output current. The DA9131-A integrates two single-phase buck converters, each delivering up to 5 A of output current. The DA9132-A also integrates two single-phase buck converters, each delivering up to 3 A of output current. All devices in this family have an input voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.5 V and an output voltage range of 0.3 V to 1.9 V, making them suitable for a wide range of low-voltage systems. If the output voltage exceeds 1.9V, an external resistor divider can be connected.
Tom Sandoval, senior vice president and general manager of the Automotive Business Unit at Dialog Semiconductor, said: “Dialog continues to introduce new PMIC solutions to meet the ever-increasing power and thermal efficiency demands of high-performance in-cabin automotive electronics systems. Automotive electronics system developers can rely on Dialog Cost effective, small form factor leading power solution.”
The DA913X-A product family has a set of key features to meet the needs of today’s complex automotive Electronic systems:
Remote sensing ensures the highest accuracy and supports multiple PCB routing scenarios without sacrificing performance.
Fully programmable soft-start limits inrush current at the input to provide a slope-controlled output voltage.
·Dynamic voltage control (DVC) can adaptively adjust the power supply voltage according to the load. This improves efficiency when downstream circuits enter a low power or standby mode, thereby saving power.
Configurable GPIO support includes a range of features including I2C, DVC and Power Good indicator.
·Optimized BOM cost and size: Only a very small Inductor and capacitor are required per output.
The DA913X-A series of devices are all AEC-Q100 grade 2 qualified and come in a 3.3mm x 4.8mm 24-pin, Wettable Flank FC-QFN package. Industrial/commercial grade devices of this family are also available.
